The TPOPS Academy...

We are pleased to be encouraging the next generation of organists by providing regular tuition to school children

studying at Durrington High School.

Durrington High School is a very successful school with a strong ethos to support children in both their academic studies and in their character enhancing extra-curricular activities. We are delighted to be working there, alongside Head of Music, Beth Maughan. and teacher Dan Lacey, offering students free organ lessons with top organist Michael Wooldridge. Students are also provided with electronic home organs so that they can practise between lessons. We will also run occasional trips so that the students can experience our ESN Wurlitzer and other instruments. This project is in its very early stages but already some students are showing great promise.

A trip to the East Sussex National...

In July 2024 and again in August 2025 we welcomed our TPOPS Academy students and their parents to see and hear

our East Sussex National Wurlitzer. Following a demonstration by Michael Wooldridge, the students were shown

behind the scenes, in the blower room and the pipe chambers, and then each given the opportunity to try playing it

for themselves.

Everyone loved the day. After just a year of lessons, student James Rickus made his Wurlitzer organ debut, playing very successfully in our December 2024 Christmas Concert at the East Sussex National.
